We really enjoyed our visit to the Bird House and to Southern Kentucky. The Bird House is in a quiet, rural location, just 15minutes from I-75. The house is very clean, nicely decorated, and well equipped. We enjoyed cooking meals there and the kitchen had everything we needed. The KIng bed was nice and comfortable. The front porch was a nice place to eat our meals and bird watch. There is a lot do in the area. Several State Parks and a National Park are within easy driving distance. Hiking is one of our favorite things to do and there are many hiking trails nearby. We spent time at Cumberland Falls State Park, Levi Jackson State Park, Pine Mountain State Park, Daniel Boone National Forest, and Cumberland Gap National Park. We would come back to the Bird House and Sothern Kentucky anytime.

This place is a gem! The owners are thoughtful and very pleasant. We were met and got a tour of the house and surroundings, and they make themselves readily available if you need anything. The home is well furnished with everything we needed to cook, relax and enjoy ourselves. While cell service is spotty, they've provided a land line phone in the home. If you enjoy relaxing in the quiet surrounded by woods and watching birds, squirrels and other wildlife in their environment, this is the place to go. You can walk through the woods and enjoy yourself, or sit on the large porch and let the birds fly by as they enjoy the many feeders in the yard. Should the weather not cooperate, there are lots of games, TV with satellite and DVD player, etc. There's also WIFI, which isn't the high-speeds you have in the city, but was more than satisfactory for our needs - we were able to stream some videos to a phone while also reading the news. We enjoyed it because you feel you're in the middle of nowhere, and you don't hear the city sounds or see the lights - which means the stars are clear and vibrant - but you're only a few minutes drive from anything you would need. We would definitely recommend this home to our friends and family who are looking for a getaway, and plan to visit again ourselves again sometime during fall to enjoy that time of year. We've had lots of good experiences with rentals in the past, but by far this is the best one we've stayed in yet.

The Bird House - Perfect Getaway
The Bird House was just as advertised; quiet, private, & peaceful - except for the bird visitors. We had turkeys, hawks, pleated woodpecker, gold finches, Indigo Buntings, hummingbirds, and a host of others. It was the perfect jumping off point for hikes in the Daniel Boone Natl Forest, and the porch was the perfect spot for coffee in the mornings and spending our non-hiking days. In fact, we enjoyed the porch so much, some days it was hard to leave and explore. Carey was a fantastic host & went out of his way to accommodate our needs related to allergies. The home was very clean, & well equipped. I could go on & on, but you get the idea. It is a great place to disconnect & reconnect. We will be back!

Wish we stayed longer
Honestly, sitting on the porch relaxing, I've never hear so many birds chirping! Lovely setting, great accommodations with all the modern amenities needed. Hubby even enjoyed the sounds of the Sat nite drag races down the road, so we stopped there as well. Something for both of us.
Everything was good
Everything went well & they were really nice. Was good communication & directions from them. The house was really cute & we also got to meet Carey and the two dogs. I also made a fire each night. Will rent from them in the future 👍👍
Birds
Loved everything about this place. They had everything you could possibly need available. Even the medicine cabinet was stocked. It was close to both Cumberland Falls and Laurel Lake which is what brought us here. We will definitely return if we come back to the area. Very secluded and private.
What a Wonderful Stay!!!
What a wonderful stay!!! The house is clean and well maintained. The property is secluded, quiet and peaceful but close to many attractions and places to shop. I enjoyed sitting on the porch with coffee in the morning and watching the sun come up. I found myself back on the porch in the evenings with a beverage to enjoy the peace and quiet. The "welcoming committee"--2 very friendly dogs--came by often to visit. The owners are friendly and responsive. I HIGHLY recommend the Birdhouse to anyone who is looking for a quiet, secluded getaway that is close to much to do. Thank you for a fantastic stay!!!
Peaceful, cozy getaway
The Bird House is so much more than the photos show. There’s an atmosphere of peace there amid the trees. The east facing country front porch is the perfect spot for watching the sun rise and the steam gently rise as the sun warms the cool October dew. Inside, the owners have thought of everything to make your stay pleasant—kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils, board games and DVDs as well as Directv. Even well placed night lights! We visited Cumberland Falls, Cumberland Gap, and even took in a little drag racing on Friday night at the London Dragway! We left wishing we had a few extra days to stay.
Weekend getaway
Perfect place to get away from it all. Close enough to the falls but far enough away to not be touristy. Coffee on the porch in the morning is pure bliss!! Communication was amazing as well. The owners are excellent and well. Just a perfect place!
Peaceful Get Away!
It is a peaceful, secluded little comfy house up in the forest. The Owner was very available for us. Two great , very friendly dogs greeted us on our arrival. We enjoyed our short stay at the Bird House and hope to go back next year!!
Wonderful Secluded Location!
We very much enjoyed our short 3 night stay over the Thanksgiving holiday. Everything we needed was provided. We visited the Cumberland Falls, which we also recommend for anyone visiting the area, as it is qn impressive sight. We had fun just wandering around the yard as well, and enjoying the amenities of the house.

We loved our stay at the Bird house. It had every thing we needed. We sat out on the front porch day and evening, it was so peaceful there. Even more peaceful than the smoky mountains. We went hiking all over Natural Bridge,Bee Rock ect. Such beautiful country. There is all kinds of places to eat in London, the owners even said if we ran out of gas for the grill just call them and they would refill it. Carey and Sue are great people. We really liked Laural River lake it is so clean and the beach was white sand. It is also a trout,bass lake yea! Lake Cumberland is close. we will be coming back again with our family next time. Cozy Cabin
We were so happy with this little cabin. It was in a nice setting and was exactly as described. We only need one bed, which was so firm and provided a good night's sleep, so the price was right and not having to pay for more than what we require was nice. If we needed anything that wasn't there all we had to do was ask.
HONEYMOON!
If you want beautiful, scenic, seclusion, this is the cabin for you! It's affordable and the atmosphere is sooooooo homey. We loved this place so much, the hammock, the trees, the front porch sittin and fire pit made our get away treasurable with no regrets! I regret nothing!

The property owner met us at the cabin and was nice and friendly. There are plenty of maps available for things to see nearby. The mattress is super comfortable and the bathroom has all the toiletries you need.

Great cabin for two, clean, and our hosts were great. We used this as a “home base” for hiking in the area. It was pretty centrally located for hiking the Red River Gorge (Northeast) and Cumberland Falls (South) areas. Thank you for a great vacation!

Peaceful getaway
This adorable cabin was the perfect place for our anniversary getaway. We did a lot of hiking so we didn't hang out at the cabin too much, but when we did it had everything we needed! If you are looking for a place, book this cabin! It was perfect and Carey was so nice. Only complaint was we weren't there long enough to get a visit from his doggie!

Very nice the host Casey was a great guy told us about the Cumberland Falls which are awesome worth the drive to go see and the pups will come by and greet you at least once a day ,Nice place to stay if your in the area will definitely stay again if I'm ever in the area

The cabin was lovely and well stocked. Carey took great care of us as well. The fire pit was awesome, and the occasional visit by Duke and Boots was great fun. We will certainly return next year, and stay even longer. 🙂

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here!! It was in the woods and so peaceful out there and very cozy!! We really enjoyed ourselves!! Very close to Cumberland Falls and to a lot of hiking trails through Daniel Boone National Forest!! We are ready to come back!! 🙂

The cabin is perfect. It had everything we needed and more. It was super clean and the location is excellent. Carey, Yoda, and Duke were the perfect hosts!
Relaxing Cabin in the Woods
We had a wonderful stay at the little cabin in the woods. We had everything we needed including some surprise bonus extras you wouldn’t normally find in a cabin rental. The Wi-Fi could be a bit slow but it’s ok for vacation. We loved the fire pit and hammock.

Private, comfortable, and clean cabin. Decent internet. Hot shower with good water pressure. I appreciated the details like bug spray and phone chargers for us to use. Privately owned, no property manager, no mile long legal document to sign. No laundry to do or quiet hours. It's just a great place to stay and a thoughtful owner sharing it. It's just what I wanted.

Perfect little cabin!
My wife & I stayed at this cute little cabin while visiting family in London, Kentucky. It is located 8-1/2 miles west of I-75 off Hwy 80. It is the perfect little cabin. It is peaceful and quite with NO other cabins around. It is small and charming, yet has internet, satellite TV, and all the normal amenities to make the stay enjoyable. Everything was included – towels, soap, shampoo, paper towels, toilet paper. One thing worth noting is the tankless water heater that allow back to back showers with no wait time in between. You will enjoy your stay!

Paradise
This cabin is a peace of paradise from everything. It has anything you need for your stay from cooking utensils to an outside grill. The rocking chairs on the porch makes for a beautiful morning with a cup of coffee. The hammocks is a destination for relaxation while the fire pit is there to keep you warm at night. You even get to enjoy the company of the neighborhood dogs. The host is nothing but personable and friendly. I already look forward to my next trip out here. If you need to get away from the hussle and bussle of life, this is the place to go. You can just stay and enjoy the peacful cabin or there are many beatiful sights to be soon so close by. 10/10, highly recommend.

Remote cabin in the woods, yet so close to many attractions!
I just love Daniel Boone National Forest! And here, you can stay in the wilderness with a beautiful metal roof over your head in a quintessential "log cabin." Carey is welcoming and helpful. The space is good and well-equipped. Very sweet cabin in the woods!

The cabin was easy to find; very well appointed; quiet -- except for the birds, and as I was there to see and hear the birds, I loved it. I would recommend it to anyone (one or two people) looking for a cozy, snug, and super comfortable, clean place to stay in the area. Two nights were not enough. I wished I'd planned a third night. For some reason, I had in my head this would be a more remote location, meaning no one "for miles." But: my misperception. Daniel Boone National Forest is not (any longer) the forest primeval I'd pictured. There were a couple neighbors, though not close enough to hear or see so don't let this discourage you. And maybe being less remote than expected is fine. My friends were worried about any encounters I might have with bears. I saw no bears.
What an Amazing Place
So wonderfully peaceful. Remote enough to feel that you are away from the chaos of everyday life, yet, close enough to town if you need something. What a great combination. You could see the care and attention to detail that Carey and Sue put into the cabin to make their guests feel at home. The amenities were abundant and beyond expectation, and the surroundings were tranquil and serene. There was little to no traffic on the road in front of the cabin, which was completely different than other places I have stayed. If you are looking for a place that is quiet, cozy, comfortable, and complete, this is the one for you. I highly recommend it.

Relaxing
Everything was perfect. The cabin was adorable and very clean. Went hiking 1st day right there. We saw deers. The next day we drove around the mountain which was awesome , listening to the birds and the sights were amazing. Drove down to Cumberland falls which was very enjoyable. Would love to do again but longer.would highly recommend.

This is a great stay! The cabin is clean and cozy, anything and everything you could want or need is available. We spent time hiking nearby, sitting on the porch in the woods and having a campfire. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Sue, but Carey was great. So helpful, and checked in along the way. We would definitely look to stay again if we are in the area. Thank you, Carey and Sue.

We rented this property as a getaway for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. It did not disappoint! We had a very quiet and relaxing stay at this little cabin in the woods. Will definitely be back. The hosts have thought of everything. Everything is there and in excellent condition. Just pack a bag, grab some groceries and head on out!

This cozy cabin is surrounded by woods in a very quiet area. It was exactly like advertised. I met the owner Carey upon arrival. He was very nice and helpful. I would recommend this cabin if you need to get away.

It was most pleasurable to sit on the porch in our rocking chairs and have morning coffee with the Indigo Buntings. Enjoyed our stay very much. Listening to the birds was so relaxing. Small cabin was perfect.

AMAZING ALL THE WAY!!!!!!
Utterly Amazing!!! Just bring yourselves and your food. Everything else is there for you. Coffee, condiments and all the utensils needed for cooking or BBQing. You'll be surrounded by nature in the Daniel Boone National Forest. You'll get visits from 2 local friendly dogs...Duke (brown) and Yoda (white). Bring some treats for them and they'll be your friends for your visit. Inside the cabin is tastefully decorated and the bed is comfortable. Heat/AC is there but we only used the heat in the mornings to take the chill out of the air. The owner is very responsive and stopped by to be sure we had everything we needed. I could go on for hours about this cabin but I'll end it here by saying: You'll not regret visiting the "Escape to the Woods."

We were so excited to come back to this cute little cabin! It has everything you need and hanging out with the dogs was the best part! We love having a fire and relaxing in the hammock. Shout out to Yoda, Boots, and Duke!

We used the cabin as our home base. It was very conveniently located around the things we wanted to do. It was a very peaceful place. It was clean and had everything we needed beside clothes & food. We will use them again.

This little cabin is perfect for two people. It absolutely has everything you need for a great stay. The fire pit and hammock were also great. It’s the perfect base location for lots of cool sites to visit. Also it’s great just to sit at the fire pit and listen to the quiet.

From luxurious bathsheets to homemade pickles in the fridge, everything here was perfect! WHEN you come, bring treats for the dogs and you'll have friends for life. I hope we can return and spend more time exploring DBNF now that we're familiar with the area.

We were looking for a place to get away from daily rush and hustle. The cabin did not have anyone close by, very little traffic on the road, and a lot of close by opportunities for hiking and enjoying the outdoors. Yoda and Duke(the dogs that showed up every morning at breakfast) made it feel like home. I would definitely recommend for a get away. Candye

We enjoyed our stay very much! A peaceful setting with many trails nearby. We got lucky and were treated to an incredible display by the leaves in peak fall color. The cabin is great and just the right amount of space with a well stocked kitchen and a very comfortable bed. We really like the pulled pork at Durham’s Pit BBQ in London - authentic and truly tasty!
Woodsy
We enjoyed this off the beaten path cabin with modern amenities. Made good use of the fire ring and gas grill. Saw more spiders than we'd hoped to, but we survived them. Duke's company was welcome, while Yoda seemed to have a lot on his mind. Thanks Carey And Sue for your hospitality and allowing us to enjoy your woods.

Birthday fun!
My husband and I came to celebrate his birthday. We were looking for some time with nature to rest, relax, and recharge. We got to enjoy a fire both nights outside with hot dogs and s’mores. The cabin had every single thing we needed and communicating with the owners was so easy. We hope to come back soon! We especially enjoyed spending time with Duke and Yoda, two friendly, sweet dogs!
Great Stay with everything you’ll need
Carey and Sue’s cabin offered a very good experience in a quiet woods, and is more-than well stocked with everything you should need. Carry was friendly and very helpful wit ideas of places to visit, restauranta, and the directions to get there! On a side note; we would highly recommend the hike to Eagle Falls in Cumberland Falls State Park. 😃👍🏼
45th Anniversary get away
We had a great time. Greeted by Duke , managers dog. Very clean. Anything we needed was there to cook our food to towels and bedding. TV, books, games and walking paths. Was a great time.
Our Home Away from Home!
Our third annual stay at the Forest Cabin was as great as we remembered. The clean, well-appointed yet rustic cabin is equipped with everything you might need, from plates, flatware, pots, pans, spices and condiments to binoculars, backpack, maps, directions and brochures. Carey and Sue are excellent hosts.
Perfect Getaway
From booking to arrival, communication was easy and very clear. There were no surprises in any fashion. Check-in was easy, Carey gave us a quick tour, and then we just relaxed. Watched birds at the feeder, rocked on the porch chairs and relaxed after a long drive. Duke came to visit us every day, Yoda popped in a few times, too. Vacation dogs were a wonderful treat for both of us. As forewarned by the listing, there were Drag Races happening at the nearby drag strip. To be honest, it was only noticible outside and basically just sounded like street-noise back home. We really didn't notice it much at all. We used out Friday to hit touristy locations and spent all day Saturday just enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the Daniel Boone National Forest and Carey and She's beautiful cabin. AND THE BEST PART? Literally every possible need is covered by these amazing hosts. From matches, to every possible bathroom product, bug spray, lighter fluid (for that fire-pit), condiments, coffee, cooking oil to tissues, BIG THIRSTY AMAZING bath linens, locally sourced goat milk skin care products (that lotion is heavenly) and the most comfy bed that I have slept on in years, Carey and Sue have hosting down to a science! We hope to stay here again in the future. It was a wonderful, peaceful visit.

Perfect
We wanted a secluded “base camp” for hiking adventures and this cabin was the perfect spot. Just the right size, great bed and a fully equipped kitchen. We have never stayed in place where the hosts literally thought of everything. Even a couple of porch dogs to keep us company for breakfast and super. You will befriend Yoda and Duke. Wonderful stay.

Great Escape
A very pleasant, comfortable, cozy place to escape. Carey and Sue are very nice. But the have dogs who are extremely friendly but it might not be a place for anyone who is afraid of dogs. Otherwise, you'll wonderful time.

We absolutely loved our stay this week. It was a beautiful and peaceful spot in the woods. We loved the access to nearby parks and trails. We enjoyed the waterfalls in the area. The company of Duke and Yoda was a big bonus. Duke even went part way in a jog with me. We will miss the dogs. Cabin was well shocked and we had an amazing host. Thank you for sharing your home. Great place
If you love the outdoors and seclusion this is the place. Very small cabin but owners has done fantastic job making it feel larger. Everything you can think of is in this cabin. Outside is large hammock for two,a three burner gas grill and large firepit with all the wood you need. Cabin was perfect as our base for daily excursions. Loved having two of owners dogs ( Duke and Yoda ) check on us daily. Duke would hang with us nightly by campfire. Owners have larger property next door which we plan on booking in the future. Bring plenty of treats for Duke and Yoda.

A Quiet Retreat in the Forest
Carey and Sure Koplowitz have thought of everything in creating and maintaining this dream getaway for two. The cabin is well designed and constructed and the amenities cover nearly everything we needed from utensils and condiments to maps and a daypack with binoculars. It's easy to forget the cares of the world and "bathe" in the peacefulness of the forest.

Cozy Cabin in a Great Location
Cabin is incredibly comfortable, clean & very peaceful!! It is fully stocked with everything that you could possibly need, plus more. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch listening to & watching all the birds & even had an occasional deer visit. Our favorite visitors though, were of course Duke & Yoda! The cabin is perfectly located to travel to Renfro Valley, Cumberland Falls & Red River Gorge, with many many things to do in between. Carey & Sue were very quick to respond to our messages & gave great directions to the cabin. Carey greeted us the first morning of our stay to make sure we were comfortable & didn't need anything. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing & quiet vacation spot!

Absolutely amazing location and very cozy cabin.
Loved the weekend spent here at the remote cabin. It was isolated enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of feeling like you were in the middle of nowhere while having a walmart about 20 minutes away. Definitely recommend going to Cumberland Falls as we spent the day there hiking and it was beautiful!

We enjoyed our stay at this precious cabin immensely. It is located in beautiful Daniel Boone National Forest. The cabin is neat and clean, comfortable, cozy and welcoming. From owner Carey''s warm greeting upon our arrival to our easy, stress-free checkout, everything was perfect. Carey and Sue have stocked this delightful cabin with every amenity you night possibly need from binoculars, a spare backpack and bug spray to directions to trails, parks, markets and more. Lovely dishware, clean flatware and utensils and useful kitchen supplies meant no emergency runs to town for something we forgot. Outside, a grill, a firepit with firewood stacked nearby and even a hammock await. Quiet. Peaceful. A beautiful spot on the edge between civilization and wild places.

Lovely Cabin in the Woods
Unexpectedly wonderful place. Open floor-plan on the inside makes if feel larger than it looks on the outside. Very clean and classy inside. Feels much more like a work of love than something simply set up for renting. Wonderful experience, and very, very restful. One of the most secluded, quiet-feeling places we've ever stayed, essentially negligible pass-by traffic. Very handy to everywhere, and there is an amazing amount of outdoor things to do, though we found the cabin and its related restfulness so enticing that we occasionally passed on other things just to have quiet time together around the premises. There is a great feeling of privacy at the cabin, especially in the back yard, where the hammock is. The cabin is extremely well laid out, and it is obvious that Carey and Sue have a great eye for detail. We lacked for nothing. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are planning to return again next year. We are still talking about how wonderful it is. One note: the owners are diligent about denoting that a drag strip is nearby. Do not be concerned. During our stay there, that track hosted a holiday spectacular, even up to and including jet-engined drag cars, and due to the distance, hills and trees, we had to strain our ears to hear them. Even the jet engines of the exhibition vehicles was distant and muted. I feel that it's a testament to the host's consideration that they would even mention that fact, given that a car driving by our house on a residential street probably offers more ambient noise than that distant race track did. Trust me, it is a very quiet, restful place, and we experienced it through the fireworks and racing of a 4th of July weekend. You will not regret staying at this lovely cabin in the woods.
A nice retreat to peace and quiet
The cabin was as advertised and nice to be in the Daniel Boone National Forest. The stars at night were amazing.
They thought of everything!
The property was exactly as described. Great care was taken to communicate on the listing and that same care was shown at the property. We generally rent homes and don't do hotels so we are used to packing for all levels of accommodation. Carey and Sue had thought of absolutely everything. They sent amazing directions to the cabin a few days ahead of the visit. They were kind about our late arrival and made suggestions about places to visit while in the area. The trails on the far side of Cumberland Falls were amazing and worth the drive! Everything in the cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was perfectly stocked. There was an amazing book and video library. We found a delightful hammock out back as well as fire pit (wood available) and picnic table. At one point we were sad because we left our playing cards at home but after a two minute search we found all kinds of games including cards. Again we are happy to have used Homeaway instead of a chain hotel.

Carey and Sue were wonderful hosts, very friendly and accommodating. The cabin is cute and cozy. Not a ton of frills, but it's private, comfortable, and has good access to a wealth of hiking in the area. A great place for a relaxing romantic getaway. The hammock and firepit are great touches, I wish we had the opportunity to use them. We will be back for a longer stay in the future!

Very enjoyable stay for two nights at this cabin. Small and cozy, but has everything you could possibly need. This was the perfect place for my solo trip to spend the weekend hiking and trail running in Daniel Boone National Forest. Very clean and comfortable. Loved the fire pit, front porch and hammock. Cabin is a roomy one room cabin with everything we needed. We enjoyed the rocking chairs on the front porch with a beautiful view of the rising sun and full moon while we were there! We enjoyed running and walking on the local roads. We hiked the sheltowee trail and found several other trails to hike that are tucked in the hills of DBNF. Carie and Sue provided everything one needs at the cottage. They also provided many Trail maps and area brochures. Fire pit area and hammock for two add to the relaxation provided at the cottage.
Relaxing and cozy weekend away from the city
My boyfriend and I drove in from Nashville to this great little cabin. It was far away from everything and a beautiful setting. It was warm and cozy and the bed was very comfortable and it was SO quiet. We drove about 20 minutes for an all day hike at Daniel Boone National Forest and it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. The kitchen and bathroom were better stocked than any rental I've ever been to. My only complaint (which is minor) was that there wasn't a dishwasher. However, they did provide paper plates. I would highly recommend this cabin to any couples looking for a great escape from their busy lives.

A very simple cabin in a beautiful location. The bed was fantastic! We haven't slept so well in a long time. Conviently located close to the city of London where there are many restaurants.

My wife and I were looking for a place to get away and relax for a couple of days after Christmas and found this perfect little cabin. The place was very nice and clean and Carey and Sue have done a wonderful job of stocking the cabin with just about any and everything you might need. We hope to come back sometime in the near future.
Cabin in the woods!
Lives up to all previous reviews. The place is immaculate and shows thoughtful detail to the little things that make your time extra comfortable. The area is beautiful and there is a plethora of outdoor activities. Easy day drive to Mammoth Caves. If in town during a full moon then check out the Moonbow at Cumberland Falls. Split Bow Arch is an easy, rewarding hike with a nearby gorge providing stunning views. Wrigley Taproom in Corbin and Jarfly brewery in Somerset made for a nice evening out. Of course you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the rocking chairs on the front porch. Sue and Carey were accessible, responsive and very timely. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommend.
Peaceful Retreat
We have stayed here twice and absolutely love it! Carey & Sue are amazing and have thought of everything you could possibly want or need. The cabin has lots of privacy and great wildlife. The outdoors are fitted with a hammock, picnic table, rocking chairs, huge fire pit (with wood!) and chairs for the fire pit. The kitchen is well stocked and we've never needed something and not had it available. This is a real retreat from the rat race of everyday life and I hope they never change it!

Exceeded our expectations
We were just expecting a simple log cabin with not much to it other than the essentials (bed, sink, shower, ect). The cabin very much exceeded our expectations. It felt very modern, clean, and comfortable. Other than the occasional passing car (maybe two or three over four days) it was fairly secluded. The owners dogs would also come visit which was also nice.
We loved the place, my wife and I came down from Michigan for a little get away, it was perfect.
We really enjoyed our stay, very peaceful, clean cabin. The owners were very welcoming they meet us at the cabin for a walk through. We will be back.

We went for our honeymoon. The cabin was perfect for the two of us. We found it cozy and comfortable. the Owners even had revitalization shampoo and soap to be used. They absolutely wanted us to leave there restored and feeling ready for the next part of our journey! This place is definitely heaven on earth!

This is a clean well kept cabin. The scent when entering is very inviting. The owners have put alot of thought into your stays needs. Everyting from books, movies, games and essentials you may not have even thought of bringing but were so happy to see. A place to get away from everyday routines and enjoy the peace and serenity that nature provides. Carey, Sue and the pups were great to meet and we look foward to returning to their cabin in the woods.

Carey and Sue’s cabin was absolutely perfect for us. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We cooked dinner and breakfast in the terrific little kitchen, drank a glass of wine on the front porch, and played board games before bed. A perfect antidote to city life :) The location is great for day trips to some beautiful hiking spots, and town isn’t far away if you need a store. Also, Carey and Sue’s friendly adorable pups (Yoda and Duke) visited us on the porch from time to time and were excellent relaxation companions. I would definitely stay here again!
Quiet retreat in the woods!
First time booking something like this, so I was a little skeptical from the start, especially not knowing the area! Carey & Sue could not have made this any easier! They answered all my questions before we booked and my many questions between booking and our stay! Sue met us at the cabin when we got there and Carey even answered a 7am Sunday morning snaffoo phone call! The cabin has everything you need - kitchen items, toiletries, wood for the fire pit, etc. It was great to get away from everything for a few days, even in the rain - wish we could have stayed longer! Will definitely be back again!

A perfect place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. At night you can sit by the fire and in the morning grab your coffee and sit in the rocker on the porch. You may even have a visit from a dog or two. This cabin was a wonderful romantic weekend for our 30th Anniversary. You will not be disappointed. If this cabin was closer to home, I would be there at least one weekend a month.

This cabin was a perfect getaway for a long weekend filled with many hiking adventures in Cumberland Falls. It is quite an enjoyable space whether you want to read outside in the hammock surrounded my the sounds of the woods, or relax indoors after a long day exploring the falls, trails, or lakes around Corbin and London, KY. Carey and Sue are fantastic hosts who were readily available during our visit, and were even helpful beforehand, ready to answer any questions we had. Excellent location, condition, service, and enjoyment! I highly recommend!

This is the first time I have used VRBO and I have to admit, I was a little nervous. But the cabin is WONDERFUL and we had an EXCELLENT experience. The cabin was exceptionally clean and quaint, and had every little detail you might possibly need. It is like camping but with all your things! My fiance and I had an awesome visit. The neighbor's dog was also a great addition to the cabin(smart, sweet dog and he made me feel safe out in the woods). Sue and Carey were also very kind and very accommodating to all of our needs I definitely can't wait to return! A MUST visit if your looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting!

Family and friends kept asking why we were going to Kentucky and we kept saying “because we found this little cabin in the woods.” And what a great place it turned out to be!! Carey and Sue have thought of everything in the perfectly appointed cabin, including the fact that it was very clean (thank you!). The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all week, the bed was awesome, the TV and sound system great, the front porch inviting and the perfect place from which to watch a quiet, peaceful rain. We were looking for a week of downtime and the quiet, secluded, and beautiful setting in the Daniel Boone Forest was just what we needed. Thank you Carey and Sue for creating a great place and sharing it with us!
Solitude and amenities
This is such a great cabin. Fully equipped with everything you need. Full size appliances and every pot, pan, and utensil you could imagine. There are board games and dvds,books,and puzzles. It was extremely peaceful. There was plenty of firewood and a comfy hammock out back. Great place to sit and relax.. There are plenty of things to explore within a close drive. I cannot say enough how comfortable the furnishings are inside the cabin. Would strongly recommend that you stay here. The owners do not bother you and fully respect your privacy. We even had the neighbors dog come and relax with us on the porch. We'll mannered dog and if we ignored him he left us alone but he added a hominess to the cabin. I don't know anything else I can say about the cabin but you must stay here. Absolutely loved it. Both of us deal with the public every day but what a break to enjoy solitude.

This was a weekend getaway that was perfect in every aspect of the way. The cabin was what you would want an actual cabin experience to be. Relaxing~Clean~Everything You Need
My wife and I have been using VRBO and Home Away for several years all over the US. We booked this little cabin for a 5 day retreat over Memorial Day in the Daniel Boone National Forest, Kentucky. It is out of the way, quiet, cozy and very nicely furnished. It has fast internet/wifi, satellite TV (nice flatscreen and soundbar with HBO/Starz) for those relaxing evenings. Grill a nice steak on the clean spacious barbecue. This is one of the most thoughtfully furnished cabins we have ever encountered! The owners, who are fantastic by the way made sure we had everything needed and I mean everything. We could tell that "allot" of thoughtfulness went into assuring a great stay here. Anyone looking for some awesome hiking and scenic beauty will love the area. We hiked to some fantastic sandstone arches in the Red River Gorge. A must see is Cumberland Falls, Natural Bridge (take the chair lift to the top), Gray's Arch, NADA tunnel and of course visit the original KFC! Whitewater rafting is an adventure you won't forget. The town of London is close enough to get anything you need and has some nice places to eat. Gondolier Italian Grill had great pizza and craft beer selection. As a professional photographer I got some amazing images. They won't let you post websites here, but trust me, it is stunning geographical area to visit. Bottom line....this is a great cabin and you will be surprised how comfy and peaceful a place can be. Weather you use it as a base to explore the sites or just want to hang out and enjoy a restful stay, you can be assured of an enjoyable and memorable stay. Highly recommended!
PERFECT GET-A-WAY....SO GLAD I STUMBLED ACROSS IT!
A clean, comfy, cozy little cabin. I'd give this place 10 stars if it was allowed. If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing place off the beaten path, then this is it. Yet, it's less than 7 miles to a main highway just off 75 and about 35 minutes south of Renfro Valley Entertainment Center, which is why I was in the area in the first place. Staying here was soooo much better than staying in a hotel, like I did last year, and there was nothing wrong with the hotel. Carey and Sue (owners) were very responsive from the initial reservation request through arrival and have thought of everything ~ outdoor fire pit complete with firewood, hammock out back, picnic table and gas grill with grilling tools in the kitchen. Cabin is well supplied with cookware, food storage containers, utensils, plates & bowls...you name it. They even have foil. I always take some of my own cooking things when I stay in cabins because some have what you need and some don't. I didn't need anything that I took this time around. Shampoo, conditioner & body wash is also supplied and there is a little pouch under the bathroom sink with floss and brand new toothbrushes in case you forget to bring yours. I can't think of one thing that would make this cabin better. There's no need to leave unless you want to. Other than taking the VERY BACK roads into Corbin, I didn't get to explore much of the surrounding area. I hope to remedy that in the future and when I do, this IS the place I will be staying.
Forest Oasis!
What a fantastic cabin! Sue and Carey provided us, and all that stay there, the perfect, cozy, welcoming cabin to relax and enjoy. We absolutely loved our stay here. The cabin is clean, nicely decorated, equipped with everything you would need, and more. From the fully stocked kitchen and housewares, to the fire pit, grill, and hammock outside, there is nothing you will miss. On good weather nights, sitting by the fireside was so relaxing, and on rainy nights watching movies from bed was just perfect. Coffee in the rocking chairs on the porch in the morning...it was just what we were looking for. Close to great area day adventures; we visited Cumberland Falls, Cumberland Gap, Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge State Park, and the bourbon distilleries in Frankfurt/Lexington area. I have already referred friends to stay here and hopefully will return ourselves. Thank you Sue for being so welcoming - you made me even more excited for my vacation!!!
Great little cabin!
My girlfriend and I stayed a long weekend here to celebrate our birthdays. We were very happy with the cabin, it had everything we needed or could ask for. It was a short drive to several very cool hiking trails. The owners were great, he met us there for check in gave us a quick walk through and told us to call if there was anything else we needed after that we didn't see him again. We would recommend staying here and if we are back in the area we will stay again!
Perfect! Absolutely perfect!
This was the perfect long weekend getaway for my girlfriend and myself. Carey met us promptly at check in time, and was extremely easygoing and thorough in the rundown of all cabin amenities and area. Although we had no issues during our stay, we definitely felt we could rely on Carey or Sue! The cabin is in a perfect location. Tucked away enough that you feel secluded. But close enough to activities and businesses that you don't feel stranded. You really feel right at home within minutes. I'm a musician and it was easy to relax and work on my music. Sitting on the front porch or chilling in the hammock, I felt very inspired and at ease! The kitchen was perfect and clean (as is the rest of the cabin) we made breakfast and dinner and didn't want for anything! If you're in the area do yourself a favor and make this home for a night or two. We will definitely be coming back to this unique and inviting spot.
Relaxing Weekend Getaway
We had a wonderful time at the cozy cabin! It is just the right size for a weekend stay in the forest. We had everything we needed and Carey and Sue were very helpful and responsive if we needed anything. We enjoyed the hammock, fire pit, and all the squirrels and birds that visited us. We also loved the hiking at Cumberland and Eagle Falls. If we are ever up this way again we will definitely be back to this adorable cabin! Thanks again Carey and Sue! Katelyn & Zack
Cozy & Warm
Sue and Carey are great hosts. Very responsive, friendly and welcoming. The area is beautiful and peaceful and the cabin is perfect for a couple. Everything was in great shape, clean, and the bed is very comfortable. We'll definitely plan to go back next year.

Sweet little cabin
My husband and I had a great restful weekend. we stayed on the porch most of the time enjoyed every minute. The rocking chairs was such a plus. We were close to town also. We are looking forward to coming back next year.

We loved staying at this cabin!! We were close enough to go hiking at Cumberland Falls. The kitchen was more than adequate for cooking all of our meals. Sitting out on the porch at night was peaceful and relaxing :) We will definitely be back!!
A Quaint, Homey and Relaxing Feel
This cabin was such a wonderful escape form our busy lives. Nestled in a quite corner of the woods, we felt all to ourselves and able to relax. The cabin was warm, welcoming, out-fitted with any possible need that you could think of besides being comfortably decorated inside. We needed for nothing; Carey and Sue thought of every little thing we could need and we available at a moment's notice for any questions or concerns we had. They were wonderful hosts. We especially enjoyed waking up on our own time and listening to the birds chirping as they visited the feeders outside the cabin in the cool mornings. We definitely recommend this cabin to any couple seeking some time alone and away from it all. We enjoyed it and look forward to going back one day!

We were most satisfied with our stay. The cabin is very well designed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Very nice shower plenty of supplies on hand. Wonderful seclusion in Daniel Boone National Forest
Carey met me at the church down the road as cell service can be a little spotty. Upon entering the cabin I was pleasantly surprised to see how much care the owners had put into setting up this cabin. The interior felt very new and was extremely clean. Anything you needed from camping chairs, firewood, board games, and even a telescope was already at the cabin. My favorite part of my visit was the hammock resting between two trees at the back of the cabin. I must have laid there for hours just relaxing and looking at the forest before me. The cabin also had satellite TV service with premium channels like HBO and showtime which was a nice bonus. Also, cell service was fine once I reached the cabin. The cabin felt very secluded and only had the occasional car driving down the road every now and then. I look forward to coming back and exploring more of the area.
Small but adaquite very peaceful
Clean little cabin. Owner very acomodating. Very peaceful and quiet. We needed a place to just relax and chill out that was what we got. The only problem we really had was bathroom toilet too close to the door made it hard for hubby to wipe and not hit his head.
Beautiful cabin and excellent stay
Carey and Sue have an immaculate and homey little cabin with everything you need for a quiet getaway. Everything was brand new, clean and we'll organized. They had literature for area attractions and dining which were very helpful. We recommend visiting Cumberland Falls and eating at Dino's Italian Ristorante if you get the chance as these were our favorite highlights of the trip. The only trouble we had was a lack of cell phone signal and WiFi for getting GPS on my phone, certainly not the fault of the owners but be aware AT&T can be spotty reception. Thankfully my husband had Verizon to cover us. Overall a wonderful trip with super hosts. :)
